YCAM Film Factory vol.2
The Making of a New Movie and Installation by Kuzoku
2015 — 2017
There is one more story following Kuzoku’s “Bangkok Nites"
This is the second film by the project “YCAM Film Factory” which creates new films under the production of YCAM. A new installation by the film producing group Kuzoku, Studio Isi, and YCAM, as well as a film of the making of Kuzoku’s feature film “Bangkok Nites” have been made and released.
Kuzoku is a film group know for films such as “Route 20” (2007) and “Saudade” (2011). With scriptwriters and directors Katsuya Tomita and Toranosuke Aizawa at its helm, the group continues to make and release films with a consistently independent style, and "Bangkok Nites" (2016) is Kuzoku's latest feature film. With the plot revolving around the romance between a Japanese man Thai woman, this movie about the unravelling of unknown Southeast Asian history and culture received high acclaim at the time of its release.
In this project, the search for alternative methodologies for international joint movie production, and the search for possibilities in an approach beyond simply making a film for movie appreciation were the themes. Along with Studio Isi, with this movie as the base, a new installation called “Hidden Journey of a Thousand Miles by JRP” and a film of the making of the movie was produced and released.
