New Movie by Go Shibata

This is the first film by the project “YCAM Film Factory” which creates new films under the production of YCAM. Film director Go Shibata has created and released a new feature film.

Go Shibata is a film producer known for films such as “Late Bloomer” (2007). In recent years, he has worked on music videos and TV dramas, expanding his horizons in the field. Shibata also has a movie called “Gui aiueo:S” (2010). In this film, Shibata captivated viewers with an experimental method of directing, considering the filming staff a “band” and presenting the filming and recording process as “sessions”.
In this project, Shibata created and released a new, scaled up movie called “Gui Aiueo:S—A Stone from Another Mountain to Polish Your Own Stone” based on his own unique world view and outlook on movies. While still adhering to the original methodology of this work, the reviewing of staff activity and work flow in today's world of low-cost filming equipment is used as its theme.

Recent and Upcoming

In 2015, Yamaguchi was the central location where location hunting, to scenario development, filming, and editing took place. Filming took place with 10 staff talented in different genres. The team was built around staff from the previous work. Filming took place in Yamaguchi, Okayama, and Kyoto.

In 2016, after the film premiered at the YCAM Bakuon Film Festival 2016, it went on to take part in other domestic and foreign film festivals. From 2017, the film will be shown in theaters throughout Japan.
