Platforms for creative work in the future

Guests at this talk event engage in a discussion on the roles of public facilities. The event is part of the “YCAM OpenLab 2022: The Ubiquitous Art Center” conference style event that is held with the aim to take a new look at art, research and development, and the position of public cultural facilities today.
Eishi Katsura, an expert in the fields of media studies and library and information science, has been involved in the lauch of numerous libraries and other public institutions. Reiko Shiga temporarily worked as a performing arts producer and care worker, before returning to the arena of creative work as a director of a public hall. Based on his activities as an artist, Hiroshi Fuji utilizes his position asmuseum director and university professor for elaborating his creative ideas. In the first part of this event, these three guests discuss the roles that public facilities as platforms for creative work will assume in the future, in order to read where exactly YCAM will be heading. For the second part, visitors are invited to join discussions in smaller groups.
