Art Appreciation Navigator Camp 2021
Lecturer Takahiro DATE
Watch art, and think art
An educational program for honing skills through conversation
Participants in this two-day event acquire skills of “interactive viewing” as a method of art appreciation based on conversation.
“Interactive viewing” is a format that has been introduced at art museums in recent years with the aim to make viewing artworks enjoyable even to those who do not feel connected with art. As it also contributes to the improvement of abilities beyond art appreciation, such as observation, cogitation and communication skills, interactive viewing is increasingly attracting attention also in the realms of school education, medicine and business. The program of this event includes a lecture by Takahiro Date, a researcher and expert in related school education, who will introduce artworks that can be interpreted in various ways, and techniques for facilitating such interpretation. It will be a serious, allround introduction to interactive viewing, from basic theory to practical implementation.
