Sound Mine: Backstage Tour

Held in connection with the ”Sound Mine” concert, this backstage tour allows participants to relive part of the creative process that resulted in “Sound Mine,” the latest concert piece by Miyu Hosoi and Shun Ishiwaka.

The sounds we hear or listen to in everyday life all come with the additional aspect of the respective space’s own specific acoustics. Participants in this tour can try out production methods that Miyu Hosoi and Shun Ishiwaka actually employed in the creation of their work, under the guidance of the artists themselves. While walking around the YCAM building, they will make audio recordings under different acoustic conditions, based on which they will examine the different spaces’ acoustic properties in order to gain a deeper understanding of the work’s central theme of ”rousing memories through aspects of sound and reverberation.”
