Video images of 36 people's faces are arranged in a grid pattern on a screen in the exhibition space. While music is playing, their expressions are forcibly changed to the rhythm of the music. In the fine mechanical sculptures of muscles on canvases in the form of human faces, the viewer can read expressions of feelings we are not supposed to intervene in, and intuit a new image of man in information society - a chimeric kind of being between man and machine.
This video piece documents how the "Face Visualizer", a device for forcibly creating facial expressions by way of electrical stimulus to the face, is attached to and used on various people's faces.
