Appearing every day at the same time at a different designated place to dance in any wind and weather, Fortier dissimilates everyday sceneries, while the catabolic action itself becomes part of the scenery.With the Yamaguchi performances under the blazing sun, heavy rain or storm in the Dojomonzen and Nishimonzen shopping districts not far from YCAM, the project was brought to a successful conclusion.
This site-specific dance project comprises 30-minute dance segments performed daily at outdoor locations in the city over the period of 30 days. Shortly before his 60th birthday, Fortier embarked on his new journey questioning the meaning of the act of dancing, starting in Newcastle (UK), and from there traveling to places around the globe.
