Nur Akbar Arofatullah (Akbar) is the co-founder of Lifepatch, he is currently working at the Center for International Field Agriculture Research and Education, Ibaraki University, Japan as a researcher in the field of agricultural biotechnology. His hobby is collecting and fixing used electronic equipment that has been thrown away, giving it a 2nd chance to be reused. Currently, he lives in Ami Town, Inashiki district, Ibaraki, Japan. He interested in the dissemination of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) biology, and generic low-cost lab equipment. Now He is working on the development of low cost environmental monitoring devices for observing cucumber during transportation, low cost fermentation measurement system, as well as investigating the mechanism of heat shock-induced resistance on tomato plants.
