Hiroko Myokam is curator and researcher, based in Kaga, Japan and Duesseldorf, Germany. Myokam specializes in the archiving and conservation of new media art. She holds a degree in Media Aesthetics from Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) and a Masters in MediaArtHistories from Danube University Krems. She was a curator of SKIPCITY Visual Museum (2004–06), NTT InterCommunication Center (ICC) (2007–09), and a researcher and an assistant director of the project for Developing Digital Archive on Media Arts ran by Agency for Cultural Affairs, Japan Government (2010–12). She was involved with projects for database development, video art conservation and research into the 235 MEDIA archive at the imai Foundation (inter media art institute) in Duesseldorf, Germany from 2013 onwards. Currently she is preparing for the launch of the Eizo Workshop Kaga, which offers screening events, filmmaking workshops, film productions, organizing community archives and research, with Noriyuki Kimura.
