cyclo. is a collaborative research project by Ryoji Ikeda and Carsten Nicolai. They have developed a database of sounds that respond with visuals when analysed in real time using equipment developed originally in mastering vinyl records. The sounds are constructed through the minute editing of frequencies, and selected on the potency of the visual images they produce.
