Nanami HASHIMOTO Publicist

Born in 1990 in Okayama, Japan. Nanami, who has been committed to theaters since high school, attended Literature and Performing Arts Course at Programs in Culture and Education, Yamaguchi University. She studied art theories in general, including music, film and art, as well as school education, and acquired First Class High School Teacher’s License(Japanese language). During her university years, she became a member of a theatre circle “Gekidan Sanae” in which she worked as a publicist for the actors, and also worked as a support member at YCAM, offering help as a guide navigating the visitors at exhibitions, a dressing-room keeper, and a receptionist at “YCAM Cinema.”

Nanami experienced a cultural shock at Setouchi Triennalle, which she visited during her student years, and after graduating, she went on to take up her new post at Fukutake Foundation, a supporter of the Triennalle. She got engaged in the management of art projects such as “Benesse Art Site Naoshima” and programs that took place in Inujima island, Okayama. While she was involved in projects, such as “Inujima ‘Art House Project’” and “Inujima Seirensho Art Museum”, she went on to move to the island, in which only 50 people more or less reside. She fully enjoyed the life on the island, deepening exchanges with the locals and calming her mind by watching the seascape of Setouchi.

In April, 2016, Nanami joined YCAM and has been working on publicizing exhibitions, performances, and programs at the Center. Aiming to make the YCAM’s projects more accessible, fresh and interesting to the public, she explores the ways to deliver information that bring personalities of the creators and the staffs into focus, while paying attention to the process of the projects going through development among the team.
