Born in 1991, in Yamaguchi prefecture. After seeing the news report of Japan’s scholastic ability has declined and hovered at a low rank among the participating countries according to the international academic research conducted in 2007, Ayu began to consider about knowledge that can be useful over the long term and it’s methods to learn them.
After graduating high school, Ayu studied mainly about the Japanese Language education at Faculty of Education, Yamaguchi University. While learning about the school education, she studied the literary style of writing, especially Osamu Dazai’s " Women Monology” Novel series. She then went on to study at Graduate School of Education in the same University to continue her research, and gained Teacher’s Certificate(Japanese Language) that qualifies her to teach students from elementary to high school.
As a student, she has been supporting YCAM in assisting the education programs such as “Korogaru Park” series, and participated in the project “Fablab Yamaguchi” which was run by the city of Yamaguchi. After finishing her study, she began to work at Ourselves Co., Ltd., a company that manages Fablab Yamaguchi project, where she organized lectures and workshops on machinery and equipment, as well as promoting the spread of programming education which the company also provides.
In April, 2017, Ayu began working at YCAM, while still holding the post at Ourselves company. Her role is focused on education programs, such as coordinating YCAM’s programs at elementary and junior high schools, and guiding and training support staffs. She has been running around the city, day and night, to make every efforts to create learning spaces that, not only children, but people with wide-ranging backgrounds can take part in.
